Mental Health AND Comedy?

Hey friends!

On this week’s episode of the Healthy is Hot Podcast, @thechloewilde chats with Mental Health Comedian, Jessica Holmes! @happyfeetholmes

Okay, so maybe you’re thinking - how can mental health and comedy be linked? As Jessica explains, wrapping serious conversations about mental health and depression in comedy can make it feel more welcoming and easier for us to talk about. It reminds people that they’re not alone. 🤍

In the episode, Jessica tells the story of how one of the biggest career opportunities of her life - opening for @oprah - actually helped her realize her undiagnosed depression and how she worked to overcome it. After taking 6 months off of work thinking she was in a “creative dry spell”, Jessica now acknowledges that this was due to her undiagnosed depression.

Now Jessica walks around feeling comfortable and SO proud of all the work she did to build her life in a healthy way. She recommends finding something that makes YOU excited everyday and say “yes” to new activities. Jessica explains that we can’t change life’s circumstances sometimes, but you don’t have to. Sometimes you just have to stop and decide to approach things in a way that reflects your values. You’ll find Jessica’s values, fun and kindness, on the bracelet she wears. Jessica tells us that we will feel our best and other people will see a spark in us when we’re living our values.

Tune into today’s episode for more on Jessica’s story of struggles and recovery, what tools she uses to deal with hard times, and how she’s helping others through comedy.

To learn more, LISTEN NOW and pass this on to someone that could benefit from this raw and real conversation.

You are on your way to living your best life, your Healthy Is Hot Life!
